    Hi all

I have a Hawkeye 2.0R. For the last couple of years I've had a re-occurring problem. When accelerating between 2-3,000 rpm the engine hesitates and surges. It isn't noticeable after 3,000 rpm and pulls fine. I had major service done by CAMS including the in-tank fuel filter last year but this didn't cure it. The car runs fine for months then starts doing it again for a few weeks. I thought it might be supermarket fuel so switched to Texaco or Shell but the problem has come back again. I'm not getting any CEL's and have previously asked for error codes to be checked but nothing showing.

Not sure if it could be throttle position sensor or something but surely that would appear in error codes? Any ideas?

  2. Worth seeing if its a misreading MAF issue.
It probably won't throw up a CEL as its reading (ie working) but just not calibrated correctly (under or over reading).
Change the MAF for a known good one and see if you can replicate the issue or get a live reading from some one with diagnostics.
